In 2018, I shot a documentary in Lebanon, where I visited Kfar Amey (the village my great-grandfather and his brothers migrated from 100 years ago) and met the long-lost remnants of my family.
However, when I arrived to the village, I found it had been entirely destroyed in a war. The documentary quickly shifted from being a run-of-the-mill “stranger in a strange land” story to one that explores the great well of love and determination that the people of Lebanon used to rebuild their home.
The documentary is currently being shopped to festivals, and will (hopefully) be available soon to share.
